Worship Wednesday: One Thing Remains

Ever had the radio play a song your heart just needed to hear?

Over and over?

Like, every time you got into the car?

It's as if God is speaking directly to you. It's awesome. A little scary. So comforting, thinking that the God of the universe knows what I need and how exactly to communicate that to me.

The song, "One Thing Remains" by Kristian Stanfill, was that for me earlier this month.

When I was really tired, and everything wasn't going according to plan, and I thought my puppy might die, and a friend was going through a really hard time and I didn't understand why...

God reminded me of the ONE THING that remains, regardless of "the mountains that I face."

Because His love never gives up on me.

He won't desert me.

Even when I'm angry, or a pain in the butt because I'm tired, or questioning.

Never.

Take a listen. I hope it speaks to you like it did to me.

Your Turn: What song is God using to speak to you recently?

  1. "In Christ Alone" Newsboys version.
"no power of Hell, no scheme of man, can ever pluck me from His hand."
When I was falling into the dark abyss of depression and my daughter danced with getting pregnant, no one could say anything right.
    That song held me together.
When I stood on mountaintops in Bolivia and all the world was good and rosy, that song reminded that through EVERYTHING, He has me in the palm of His hand.

  2. Ooh, that's a good one. For sure.

Earlier this month I came across an old Rebecca St. James song called Speak to Me. I was tired of my story and feeling empty. That whole song is basically the singer saying, "Speak to me, Lord, for your child is here, listening. Speak to me, Lord, for your child is here, waiting on you." And it was really just perfect. I needed to listen and the song helped me do so.

Hope you have a fabulous day today, Linds!

    1. I love that when we listen, he really does speak to us. It might not always sound the same, but he speaks.

  4. I love "One Thing Remains," Lindsay! What a great song!

I also love "In Christ Alone," Jennifer! I sang a solo from it for church when I was in high school.

The song that keeps speaking to me right now is "10,000 Reasons" by Matt Redman. "Bless the Lord, O my soul. Worship His Holy Name..."

  5. How Great Thou Art by Carrie Underwood. I hear her sing that song and I tear up everytime. You can hear the Holy Spirit move through her as she sings. In the video, she tears up at the end. It's so wonderful to hear God being worshipped like that.

Glad He uses you and speaks to you through music!
