A dream is a wish your
heart makes…when you’re fast asleep…
Let me tell ya—Cinderella knew what she was talking about!
And thankfully, some dreams do come true.
For the last year, I’ve been dreaming about what’s going to
happen next week, when I set foot in Dallas at my first major writing
conference (American Christian Fiction Writers).
I’ve dreamed of all the hugs I’ll share with people I’ve met
online but not yet in person, of all the awesome new friends I’ll make, and of
the internal tears I’ll surely shed when I feel surrounded by people with a
common gift and a common goal.
I know that I’m blessed. Not everyone will get to be there
this year. I don’t know why I get to go, but I’m so incredibly exciting to see
what God has in store.
And for you friends who I won’t get to meet, I’ll be praying
for you, that God will allow a dream of yours to come true this year!

I'm sooo looking forward to meeting you in person, Lindsay. I've got a hug with your name on it. =)
ReplyDeleteYay! Back at you, Keli!
DeleteI'm not singing this song. I love that one! I can't wait to meet you and give you hugs and laugh together! Yay!
ReplyDeleteSing it, sing it, sing it! Yay for laughs and hugs. And pointing fingers.
DeleteI look forward to meeting so many wonderful people too! Can't wait to learn new things and listen to so many pros in this business.
ReplyDeleteMy wish? I suppose it's to have one of my stories picked up by an agent. But that's in the Lord's hands, not mine. I am just so incredibly grateful for this chance to mingle, learn, and improve.
God is good!!
You are so right...God is good, no matter if we get an agent, or a book contract, or whatever. He is good and this conference is gonna rock our socks off!
DeleteI'm so excited for you!!! Can't wait to hear about it and see pics when you get back. ;-)
ReplyDeleteWish you were going, Jessica!
DeleteMy wish? To get to hug every awesome person I've met online in the past year. It will happen!! Oh yes. :)
ReplyDeleteI wish that too! And I hope to meet others too and branch out!
DeleteInternal tears? I'm pretty sure at more than one point those babies will be rolling down my face! :) I'm already way too emotional about this whole wonderful thing (see my blog!). I have to echo what you said: "I don’t know why I get to go, but I’m so incredibly excited to see what God has in store." This is going to be a highlight in my life and I'm so happy I get to share some of it with you (and Melissa, and Keli, and Beth, and Jessica P., and Katie G., and Donna, and Ava, and on and on and on! :)
ReplyDeleteYay! So cool we get to share it together. And it's okay. You can cry on my shoulder if you want. :P
DeleteNow that song is ringing through my head in surround sound - LOVE it! And I can't wait to meet you. I agree with Keli, I've got a hug with your name plastered all over it!
ReplyDeleteI love that song too!! :) And can't wait to hug you too, friend.
DeleteI hate to kill the buzz...but I just want my daughter to get off the Prodigal Road and come home.
ReplyDeleteAh, Jennifer, I can't imagine how hard that must be for you. :( Praying right now for that, friend!
